AWS Polly Plugin 1.11.0 Released

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Polly Speech Synthesis Plugin 1.11.0 to the UniMRCP Server (UMS) has been released.

The plugin is based on the following components:

  • UniMRCP Server 1.7.0
  • AWS SDK 1.9.181

The binaries are currently available for the following Linux distributions:

  • Red Hat / CentOS 7 (unimrcp-polly-1.7.9-1.el7.x86_64.rpm)
  • Red Hat / CentOS 8 (unimrcp-polly-1.7.9-1.el8.x86_64.rpm)
  • Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (unimrcp-polly_1.7.9-bionic_amd64.deb)
  • Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (unimrcp-polly_1.7.9-focal_amd64.deb)

This release adds support for vendor-specific parameters specified as query parameters of xml:base in SSML. The release also fixes two issues.

The detailed list of changes introduced in this release follows.
New Features
  • Allow the client to specify vendor-specific parameters via query parameters of the xml:base attribute in an SSML content.
Fixed Problems
  • Fixed a race condition in processing of the STOP request and the SPEAK-COMPLETE event which could possibly cause a license depletion.
  • If no voice engine is specified, set the voice engine in the speech synthesis request based on a selected voice. If the selected voice has both neural and standard voices, the first one in the list is used.
Configuration Parameters
  • None.
Miscellaneous
  • Updated the Usage Guide to reflect the changes introduced in this release.

Visit the Polly plugin page for more information.

Thank you for using UniMRCP.
